The People of Peru

I shot this picture in a small village on the Amazon. The mother of these two girls was demonstrating the hand-work she was doing in hopes it would produce more sales from the 20 people watching he demo.

Standing to the side I noticed the girls were intensely listening to every word the mother said and trying to emulate all of her hand movements.

In retrospect, each time I look at this image remember how impressed I was with there listening to their mothers. Now I have to ask myself -- I wonder is they understood English.

As I said at the start of this story, Amazon River is an amazing place. I am glad I saw it but I am even happier that I was able to interact with the Peruvian people.
