Ok, let's move on to something more peasant.

This image is of a young street artist in Lima. He and his brother, of about the age, were doing chalk drawings in an alleyway in downtown Lima. They had a tip jar to collect coins and bills. After all they were commercial artist working to collect money for the family.

Our tour guide told us NOT to give him any money. He said it developed bad habits.

After watching for a couple of minutes we moved on to the restaurant where we were scheduled to have lunch. I did feel bad about not giving the kid something.

When the lunch for the 22 of us came to a close, the tour guide had all the uneaten bread and other untouched dishes the placed in "to-go" boxes. The restaurant owner must have thrown in more food because when we left the restaurant we had two very big bags of food.

The tour guide retraced our path and found the young street artist still at work. He gave one bag of food to each brother. They were very pleased.

It's the Peruvian way.
