In 2012 concerned citizens of Marshall began to work on replacing it animal shelter -- the old animal shelter building in the Sate of Texas.

On October 12, 2020 the City broke ground on its new animal adoption center. This a private/public partnership. A significant part to the funding is coming from private donations.
