Letter to the Editor: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOL

I believe in following rules (laws). If you do not follow the rules (laws), then why should anyone else follow rules (laws)? Then we are back to chaos. Rules (laws) enable civilization to exist. Without rules (laws) it would be a world, country, state, city, neighborhood, or group that has everyone fighting among themselves for everything. Rules (laws) are what enabled the first clans of humans to join together, grow and prosper. It is what enables us to own private property and benefit from capitalism.

If you do not agree with a rule (law), there are procedures to change or eliminate that rule. But to violate that rule (law) of your own accord tacitly condones others to violate the rules (laws) they may disagree with.

Additionally, I believe you have a moral obligation to report rule (law) violations when you are aware of them. Otherwise you are condoning the violation of that rule (law).

As a county judge I would support local enforcement in their efforts to enforce all laws.
